In 2008 the New York Mets played their last game in Shea Stadium, the Citifields forerunner. With the opening of Citifield Stadium in 2009, a new chapter begins in New York Mets history. The club has spawned the 1969 Miracle Mets and such past baseball players for the New York Mets as legendary Tom Seaver, Darryl Strawberry, Mookie Wilson and more.

The new Mets stadium will seat 45,000 and nearly half the seats will be on the lowest level. Citifield will also include a hands-on Mets Museum and Mets Hall of Fame, four large restaurants, wider concourses and a team store more than two and a half sizes bigger than the one on Shea Stadium. By subway.

walk to the Queens Plaza station, just a block away from the Verve Hotel, and take the number 7 train to the Willets Point/Shea Stadium station.

By car.

Take the Grand Central Parkway East to Northern Boulevard/Shea Stadium exit. Or take the Grand Central Parkway West to the Shea Stadium exit. [Top]
